6. Assess HPG error against threshold. Smooth. retest #29

See which locations have HPG currents that exceed a threshold.

Smooth these points (not sure how. I think @oceandie will have to guide this).

In AMM7 used rmax=0.04 for smoothing.

Retest for HPG errors.

UPDATED This happens for the P0.0 bathy AND with the new improved bathy file

  • Completed for P0.0 bathymetry
  • Completed for new bathymetry

I've updated the summary to state that we need to do this for the P0.0 and new bathymetry. (Too lazy to create a 6a and a 6b !!)

THe following are the parameters we should change in amm15_MEs_2env_0.1_0.07_opt.inp:

e_loc_vel = [ [], 
              ['/PATH_TO/maximum_hpge_ref.nc'] ]
e_loc_vmx = [ 0., 0.08 ]
