Multi-columns using other themes

Greetings,

I just noticed that the multi-columns is only supported by the default theme. Is there any plans to add compatibility with the other themes (templates) as well?

I have also a suggestion:
It would be easier to manage if the file structure was different. I've changed on my site, so it looks like this:
/datepicker

• /templates/
• - /dashboard
• - /datepicker
• - /jqui
• - /vista
• /languages
