Based on available information my current theory is that "someone" who is experienced with flying the aircraft after the ICAR waypoint to avoid radar detection and ditched the aircraft in the sea or hijacked it and faked the radar pings/info.

In terms of hijacking

FIXME: Adapt design to make hijacking next to impossible

In terms of controlled aircraft ditching

FIXME: Perform regular meetings with a psychiatrist by design (being forced to attend to) to avoid this scenario at all cost
