This phase of the project was dedicated to modelling our domain. We started by deepening our
research, further examining our chosen items; we connected them to additional information that
answered the questions who?, where?, when?, what?; afterwards, we observed how
intermediate entities allowed us to link the items among each other. More specifically, we were
able to highlight how broader artistic and social movements contributed to the creation of the
works described by our items, forming a rich network between texts, exhibitions, magazines,
places and people. In particular, we specified which tales are included in “The Bloody Chamber” and we highlighted their connection to the tales belonging to the tradition;
also, we added genres to which the works we represented belong to, social movements (e.g. feminism) that influenced the making of such works, organizations and people (e.g. Virago Press, Carmen Callil)
that helped creating a rich representation of the complex common artistic and political background that characterizes “The Bloody Chamber” and our chosen items. This step allowed us to add to our project the level of data interpretation,
which is precisely the analysis of possible connections between the items.
