Inspired by a twitter post by cometcrystal saying "a show like drunk history but it's called drunk special interests and the guest infodumps about their special interest instead of talking about a history topic**
casual community conversations get smashed get smart
what and why : drunk lightning talks to entertain and educate; keep the opensutd spirit alive after discoverSUTD
where: anywhere with
- booze
- space for presentations [examples: mont calzone / crooked cooks / rootcove but with self provided alcohol]
sessions are thematic - first session can be about intern experiences from returning term 6 seniors to the term 2 freshies. the theme can also be the format of the presentation - 20slides x 15sec ignite or 20x20 pecha kucha for more pictorial/visual topics
why do these:
- essentially the whole open source community idea but with booze
- not much admin/logs to plan as you just need to settle a venue + projector + maybe a laptop
- maybe we have to work out a deal with the CC/calzone owners
Main planning doc was set up on 27th Aug.
D'Star agreed on 27th Aug.
Initial landing page done on 27th Aug. Was only ready about 2nd Sept
Found 15 speakers in total. Actual day 1 fell sick, 1 could no longer make it.
Venue was considered slightly small
Video was set up on the day itself, used Facebook Live
